So, COVID-19, RIGHT?
I have no clue what’s going on right now. As someone trying to get a small business off the ground, the news right now is pretty terrifying. Everything is on hold. Clients that have been regular paychecks for me have had to cancel events. I’m stuck working from home until all this blows over (or at least they re-open a coffee shop so I can get out of the house for a couple hours).
Needless to say, if you need someone to write an article, help fix your computer so you can watch all of Netflix, or edit your video, I am very available for bookings right now but to counter the spreading of the COVID-19 virus, I am moving all consultations (which are free, by the way, and available for you to book right now here) to Skype. If you had a previous meeting scheduled with me, I will be alerting you soon personally as to the change.
While being cooped up, I’m working on a personal project, a video series that will probably debut next month at some point (sooner if this all gets worse before it gets better). I’m also tackling some screenwriting I’ve been putting off in between client work and prepping proposals. I’ve also built a livestream rig from scratch in less than 48 hours for a local church so that they could stream services while the outbreak keeps them from holding a more traditional in-person service.
So, I’m staying busy but I’m also finding time to slow down and focus on some areas I’ve been neglecting for awhile now. Have you heard about these things called books? They’re delightful!
It’s hard to know what tone to strike in this update since I’m not a scientist and I really can’t see the future. I honestly don’t know how bad it’s going to get out there, but I hope this whole situation reminds us that we have to look out for each other.
So remember: wash your hands, and if you need a writer, editor, grocery-runner, etc., you know how to reach me (and if you don’t, my contact info is below). Stay safe out there friends.

Patrick Smith
